Bricks Gallery is pleased to share Stream Of Strings, a solo exhibition by Martha Skou, opening at Horsens Art Museum on Saturday, May 2 2026.
The museum wrote the following about the exhibition:
"Stream Of Strings emerges from a time shaped by digitalization, climate change, and a growing separation from nature. Martha Skou examines how energy, movement, and materiality shape our perception and bodily experience of the world. Through sculpture, textile, ceramics, and sound, the works make visible otherwise invisible phenomena such as waves, tides, electrical signals, and physical forces that continuously affect us and our surroundings.
By working with wave phenomena such as interference, refraction, and reflection, Skou materializes energies we do not normally perceive directly. This perspective creates new insights into how energy flows through bodies, spaces, and materials, while also inviting reflection on our relationship to technology, nature, and society. [...]"

The exhibition is on view through September 13, 2026, and is supported by the New Carlsberg Foundation, the Danish Arts Foundation, Statens Værksteder for Kunst, the Familien Hede Nielsen Foundation, the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen Foundation, and the Toyota Foundation.
Martha Skou (b. 1982) is a Danish interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Copenhagen. She holds an MFA in Visual Communication from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, completed in 2014. Among her recent exhibitions are Format 3 at KANAL-Centre Pompidou (Brussels, BE, 2023), Connect Me at Trapholt– museum of modern art, craft and design (Kolding, DK, 2023), and Disharmony of Spheres at Nikolaj Kunsthal (Copenhagen, DK, 2021), all in collaboration with artist Louise Foo. Stream of Strings at Horsens Art Museum marks Skou’s first major institutional solo exhibition.
